HISTORY

First of all COBOL & FORTRAN languages were used COBOL was used for commercial purposes and FORTRAN for scientific and engineering purposes. Then an International comittee developed the language ALGOL 60 in 1960.But it was too abstract and too general.Then in 1963 CPL language was developed in cambridge university, but it was hard to learn and difficult to implement.Then in 1967 BCPL was developed by Martin richards .
Then B was also side by side developed by Ken thompson at T and T's Bell labs in 1970.
B and BCPL were both typeless languages and were very specific .
In 1972 Dennis Ritchie developed one man language also known as middle level language C which was general purpose.

C#,D,GO,JAVA,JAVA SCRIPT,LIMBO,LPC,PERL,PHP,PYTHON,UNIX'S C Shell were further derived using C.Informal specification contained in a book by Dennis Ritchie and Brian Kerrighan"K&R"C.In 1989 American national standards institute published a standard for C called ASI C or C89.In 1990 International organisation for standardization published known as C90.The current version of standard C11 was published in 2011.
